Find the Chords of Any Recording —
Without Uploading It

Pick an audio file and Cesure reads its chord grid, then scrolls it in time while the track plays: current chord in large type, next chord announced ahead. Every computation happens in your browser or on your phone — the file never leaves your device, so it works offline and costs nothing.

Find the chords now
How it works

Three steps, no upload, no sign-up

1. Pick a recording

MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC or OGG — a song you love, a rehearsal take, a riff you hummed into your phone. Up to ten minutes per file.

2. The chords come out

Cesure analyses the harmony over time and writes the grid — triads first, sevenths only when they are really there.

3. Play along

Press play: the grid follows the music, the current chord stays on screen, and the next one is announced before you get there. Tap any chord to jump to it.

Why on your device

Nothing is uploaded — and that is the whole point

Most chord finders send your audio to a server. Cesure decodes and analyses it locally, which has three consequences you can check: your recordings stay yours, the tool works with no connection at all, and there is nothing to meter — no quota, no account, no limit on how many songs you run through it.

Honest about accuracy

A grid that admits what it does not know

Chord detection on a real mix is hard: voice, drums and reverb sit on top of the harmony. Cesure picks the best sequence of chords rather than guessing frame by frame, and when a passage is not clear enough it shows a gap instead of inventing a chord — two chips side by side would read as a real change. A short, quiet or heavily saturated passage may come back empty; that is a result, not a failure.

And if you want the notes

Chords are free. Full tablature is Pro.

Chord detection stays free and unlimited, forever, because it costs us nothing to run. If you want the actual notes rather than the grid, Audio to Tab transcribes the recording into an editable tablature on our servers — 3 free conversions a month, then €4.99/month or €39.99/year with a 7-day trial that does not ask for a card. Both live on the same screen; one leads to the other.

FAQ

Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. Chord detection asks for nothing — open the page, pick a file, get the grid.

Is my audio sent anywhere?

No. Decoding and analysis both run on your device. You can disconnect and it still works.

How long can the recording be?

Ten minutes. Decoding holds the whole track in memory, and a longer file would exhaust it without a clear message — so the limit is stated rather than discovered.

Why does part of my song show no chord?

Because nothing was clear enough there. A gap is deliberate: an invented chord is worse than a visible hole, since you would play it.

Can I get the tablature too?

Yes — the same screen offers "convert to full tablature", which runs the AI transcription and drops the result into the editor.
